BLOOMINGTON - Central Illinois tornado victims and volunteers who helped with clean up got their chance to see a free concert Wednesday.

Guests started coming through the doors of the U.S. Cellular Coliseum around 6:30 p.m. for their chance to see the band Chicago perform on the big stage.

All tickets to the concert were claimed within hours, and then the stage reduced in size to add more seats.

Those who lost everything in the tornado say this concert was a good way to escape for one night, and to look forward.

"It lifts us up. It gives us hope again that things won't be the same as they were before. It gives us a chance and an opportunity to look forward to what's coming and a sense of rebuilding and hope,” said Barbara Walsh of Washington.

Red Cross tables were set up inside the Coliseum to help continue the efforts to rebuild Central Illinois.
