Congressman Aaron Schock made a stop in Peoria today to talk about the Affordable Care Act.
He was joined by some business owners who have been negatively impacted by the plan.
They are no longer able to keep their current insurance plans.
Since open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act began on October first, millions of Americans have lost their coverage, despite promises that they would be able to keep their current insurance.
“Let's not screw the eighty percent of Americans who have coverage, that are struggling in this economy, businesses who are trying to make ends meet and take away that coverage that they like, that they chose for them and their families, that 's affordable to them. Why would we do that?” said Schock.
Schock is asking lawmakers to pass a new piece of legislation that would allow those who already have insurance to keep their current coverage.
