A decorated Peoria police officer, who was acquitted of criminal sexual assault in March, was indicted Tuesday on two counts of unauthorized video recording. According to a news release from the police department at the time, John McCavitt's arrest stems from an alleged incident at his home in Peoria last year and came as a result of alleged criminal evidence uncovered during an internal investigation into the off duty activities of McCavitt. Meantime, McCavitt now faces yet another criminal case, charging him with aggravated child pornography and child pornography. McCavitt remains on unpaid administrative leave. He is back in court May 15th.
