District 150 Approves New FOIA System

PEORIA - The new computer system will help the district in repeat FOIA requests on similar topics.
PEORIA - District 150 will now have a new system to deal with their Freedom of Information Act request.

Monday night, the board approved to go ahead with new licensed software that will handle the FOIA requests.

This will keep a database of current and previous requests.

The district hopes this helps staff in the FOIA process.

"We're able to, basically, keep all that information - the contacts made back and forth withing a database - so if someone were to request the same FOIA two years later, we can look back and say 'This has already been requested'," said District 150 Spokesperson Chris Coplan. "Hopefully, it saves staff time."

Also at Monday night's meeting, the board approved the contract for new Comptroller/Treasurer Mark Wilcockson, who will replace interim Treasurer Dave Kinney.
