Freezing cold temps and even colder icy water, but the action is heating things up outside at Maui Jim today.
These divers are braving the wintry waters for the fourteenth annual Maui Jim Dive for Cover.
It benefits South Side Mission’s new Promise Center Women and Children’s Shelter.
Around 100 participants raised $60,000 this year.
That’s a grand total of more than $700,000 over the last 14 years.
“It sure warms your heart, warms my heart after I am done diving, to see all these folks having fun and enjoying a bowl of chili together. And just really grateful that we were able to help all the homeless moms and kids living in the South Side Mission,” said Phil Newton, Executive Director of the South Side Mission.
A silent auction was also held to raise money for the South Side Mission.
