DNA Testing Ordered in Bloomington Murder Case

A Bloomington man, serving a 55 year prison sentence for the murder of his daughter, won what his family called a small but important court victory Tuesday. A McLean County judge ordered DNA testing done on evidence in the 1998 death of Christina McNeil. Her father, Barton McNeil was convicted of her death but maintains DNA testing will prove his innocence. Blood or urine stains on the bed sheet, pillowcase and T shirt along with fingerprints on a bedroom window along with a window screen, bed sheet and pillowcase will be tested. Barton's attorneys claim the evidence against him was circumstantial not scientific.
