East Bluff Kids Clean Up The Community

East Bluff kids are cleaning up the streets and learning valuable lessons.
PEORIA – Many kids on the East Bluff of Peoria usually spend Saturday mornings playing basketball, but today they’re spending their time giving back to the community.

It’s part of the East Bluff Community Center and Mayor’s Litter Committee clean-up day.

The kids were up early to pick up trash around the neighborhood.

Volunteer and basketball coach Ricco Dixon said it’s not only positive for the community, but it teaches the kids valuable lessons. “Teach the young man leadership, come together, be as one. Just because you were raised in this neighborhood doesn't mean you have to walk by each other be mean and be mad, you can hang out and have fun.”

The kids play basketball every Saturday and practice on Wednesdays.
