WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill - Olivia Elger is now officially ready for her senior year.
The Richwoods senior closed the books on a busy summer which included playing all over the Midwest with her AAU team. And choosing Creighton as the school where she'll play college basketball next year.
"I wanted to go into my senior year, I didn't want it to be a distraction at all with my school team. I wanted to focus on that," said Elger on picking her college before school started. "Having my college decision out of the way, now I can focus on my senior year."
Elger is the area's leading returning scorer at 211 points per game.
"We haven't been to state yet. Obviously, that's the ultimate goal," said Elger of her goals this year. "Just having that to focus on and no other distractions, I think that's a huge benefit."
Elger, who will sign her National Letter of Intent in November, will study business at Creighton.
