Enhanced Veterans Health Care Act

U.S. House of Representatives Candidate Bobby Schilling gives his take on the VA Hospitals scandal
PEORIA - A congressional candidate is giving his take on the recent veterans health care scandal.
Bobby Schilling (R) is trying to win his former seat back from current Congresswoman Cheri Bustos.
The republican says the scandal helped to pass the new enhanced veterans health care act.
The bill allows veterans to go to any hospital in their community, not just a VA related facility.
Schilling says this new act will help confirm that veterans are receiving the proper care.
"This is a great day for the American veteran because now not only can they get the care they need and deserve but it allows for future veterans to know that, hey, America is here and we're going to take care of you, Schilling said
Schilling also says when the VA scandal broke, he immediately called for now former Secretary Eric Shinseki's resignation.
