WMBD/WYZZ-TV - EAST PEORIA, Ill - Kylie Giebelhausen admits basketball is really fun as a senior at East Peoria High School.
"We all have higher basketball IQ's and are unselfish with the ball," said Giebelhausen. "It's easier to play with, easier to get wins."
The Raiders star says she's grown four inches since her freshman year. And the game of the 6-foot-1 guard is growing too.
She used to just be a perimeter shooter but this year, she's taking the ball to the basket a lot more often.
"This year being able to drive to the lane and finish, get more points around the rim and get fouled," said Giebelhausen. "I know I'm a big player, but it was never a part of my game until last year to be more aggressive."
So now she is one of the most complete players in the area. Giebelhausen scores on the outside, she scores on the inside.
Just don't ask her how many points she has in a game. She's not keeping track.
"To be honest," said East Peoria coach Jay Bowman. "She doesn't know her point total. She just goes out and plays,
she's happy as long as we win. That's what matters to her."
Giebelhausen added: "If I'm on, I don't care about my points. I'd rather be wining than worrying about my points."
Which is another reason why basketball is so fun this year at East Peoria.
