Evening Weather 5/31/14

A stormy pattern begins building on Sunday.
Tons of sunshine moving through central Illinois today, really skyrocketing temperatures. Highs this afternoon even hit 90 in a few spots, well above normal for this time of year. We'll continue to stay clear through much of the evening. Western parts of central Illinois are seeing a bit more cloud cover and storm chances moving through. These storms are similar to what has move through the past several days with upper level energy from a low pressure system to our south. We'll see these storms dying down once the sun sets. Conditions will be dry overnight, but clouds will build into Sunday.
Overnight lows will stay mild in the mid 60s. We're not expecting much sunshine on Sunday, but southerly winds will still warm highs into the mid to upper 80s. Sunday is also looking quite humid, with dewpoints in the upper 60s. We'll start off dry tomorrow morning, before storm chances move in for the afternoon. An unsettled upper level pattern will continue to bring us a chance at rain through Monday. A slow moving cold front will keep chances of storms around through the day. The front will stall out through the rest of the week, keeping rain chances through Friday. We could desperately use the rain though, as we are below normal for the month, season, and year. Temperatures will cool gradually next week as the rainy pattern moves through.
