Governor Pat Quinn signed legislation Tuesday to expand voting opportunities in Illinois. The new law is designed to encourage participation in elections and streamline the process. The new law allows same day voter registration and extends in person early voting hours and removes ID requirements for in person voting by registered voters. Many Republicans insist the bill is nothing more than an effort to turn out Democrats in November.
