A multi Grammy award winning artist few into the River City today where he received a rather musical welcome.
Banjo player Bela Fleck is in Peoria to perform in a concert with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra and select members of the Central Illinois Banjo Club.
Upon his arrival at the Peoria International Airport, he was serenaded by the Banjo Club honoring the heritage of the instrument.
“It's kind of neat, an honor to be able to welcome him here.”
"Greatest welcome I've ever had in my life."
After his arrival Fleck took the time to sign the banjos of all who welcomed him.
Fleck has won 15 Grammys and been nominated in more categories than anyone in the history of the Grammy Awards.
