Green Shoe Studio Records Song to Help Healing Process

Many people are still healing from the devastation the November tornado left behind.
EAST PEORIA – Many people are still healing from the devastation the November tornado left behind. Employees at Green Shoe recording studio in East Peoria are no different. The same group who put together a hit song called “Sweet Lorraine,” by 97-year-old Fred Stobaugh, decided to record a song called “Our Anthem” for the Washington community. They also made a music video featuring survivors of the tornado. Singer and songwriter Jacob Colgan says he’s proud to showcase the strength of a community with a desire to stay strong.

Colgan says, “You had nurses making sure people were ok, safe. You had plumbers jumping around shutting off gas lines, turning off water lines. Everybody knew what to do. All of us tried jumping in 'what can we do'?”

You can also donate money to help victims of the tornado on Green Shoe Studio’s website.
