GTI Moves Forward with Cultivation Center Plans in Normal

Green Thumb Industries eagerly awaits the formal application from the Department of Agriculture.
NORMAL- Green Thumb Industries continues to push forward on applying for a cultivation center in Normal.

On Tuesday, Green Thumb representatives met with members of the Normal Police Department to get feedback on emergency response strategies.

GTI has already leased land for the cultivation center.

The company is now waiting on the Department of Agriculture to provide the formal application.

GTI hopes by taking action early it will help them become a better fit for the community.

"Part of the reason we wanted to start the conversations with the Town of Normal was to figure out what were the needs of the community and how could we be helpful to the community by bringing in jobs and employing local people," said Matt Estep, Managing Partner.

Green Thumb Industries says if its application is chosen, the cultivation center in Normal could produce up to 10,000 pounds of medical marijuana per year.
