WASHINGTON - Students at Central Intermediate School in Washington got a special visit from a one of a kind basketball player Friday. He’s taking action to stop bullying across the globe. “Cheese” Chisholm is a Harlem Globetrotter as well as a Goodwill Ambassador. Chisholm spends his time off the court talking to kids about bullying and most importantly, prevention. He stresses the importance of taking action, bravery, and compassion. It’s all part of the national campaign to stop violence to help reduce bullying among kids. Chisholm says it’s an important lesson for everyone to learn. He says being a Globetrotter just helps him spread his message even further.
“Everybody knows the Globetrotters for our showmanship and entertainment. But, when it comes to something as powerful as bullying, a message like that, I learned to balance myself. I learned to give them the important message and to have fun."
The Globetrotters will bring their “Fans Rule” World Tour to Peoria on Sunday, January 5th.
