PEORIA- Governor Pat Quinn came to Illinois Central College today to announce the state’s investment of $2.6 million in the college. The money comes from the Governor’s ‘Illinois Jobs Now!’ program and will be sued to upgrade facilities. It will also be used to build a 24,000 square-foot addition to ICC. The addition includes space for truck driver training, auto body training and an alternative sources lab.
“There are programs at this institution that can really teach folks what we can do in all of these careers to create jobs and be well trained. Whether it's solar or wind or go thermal,” said Quinn.
The college will contribute nearly $900,000 in addition to the investment.
