ISU's Underwood ready for the NFL

Colton Underwood is ready for the NFL, should he get drafted in May.

NORMAL - Every drill under extreme scrutiny. Your fate in the form of a checkmark on a clipboard. ISU senior Colton Underwood's workout was under the microscope, but it didn't bother him at all.

"I've been doing this for so long ever since I was a little kid.  You get nervous on the first 2 reps, but  this is what I was born to do," said Colton Underwood, ISU Senior.

Colton was one of 14 Redbirds flexing their muscles for NFL scouts at Hancock Stadium. It's the same place where the ISU coaches gave them a chance to rule the roost on Saturdays.

"They helped me out a lot," said Underwood. "Credit to Coach Spack. "They got me ready for anything that anyone would throw at me.  Pleased with my decision to come here."

Now, dreams of the NFL are very real.

"Growing up it was my dream," said Underwood. "I turned it into a goal now.  For it to be so close, really exciting.  Definitely an experience I'm not going to forget."

All he's asking for is a chance to prove himself.

"Any position in the NFL is a position in the NFL for me," said Underwood. "Playing 4 years of defense on the college lever is going to help me up my chances for defensive spot.  If they  ask me to play fullback on Sunday, that's what I will do."
