Job Fair for High School Students

Local high school students are getting the chance to join the work force today.

Local high school students are getting the chance to join the work force today.

It was all a part of the ELITE job fair.

Before taking part in the job fair, students had to go through 11 weeks of class.

They learned everything from the importance of eye contact to how to dress professionally.

Students also learned the importance of a good work ethic.

“Our motto is "W.D.D.L." One thing they bring out is, we don't do lazy.  If you come with the skills, the appearance, the communication, then starts talking about standards.  A standard is just something to be broken in a good way," said Carl Cannon

One hundred twenty students participated in today’s job fair.

Some of the companies there included Chick-Fil-A, Peoria Park District, and Caterpillar.
