Jury selection was underway Monday afternoon in the trial of a decorated Peoria policeman whose charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual assault. According to a search warrant, a woman alleges she was unwillingly restrained and assaulted by John McCavitt at his home. She claims she slept as his home after a night at a Peoria bar with him and his girlfriend. The search warrant says she awoke blindfolded, mostly unclothed and fully restrained with McCavitt nearby. McCavitt pleaded NOT GUILTY to the charges.
