Local Colleges Rank High in Economic Value

Bradley University and Illinois State University rank in the top 2% of the ETC College Rankings Index.
Two Central Illinois colleges made the top of a national list that ranks the overall return on investment for higher education.

Bradley University and Illinois State University are in the top 2% of the Educate to Career (ETC) College Rankings Index.

The index considers the quality of students when they arrive on campus, the price to attend the college, and post-graduation success in the job market.

Bradley ranked 135th out of the 1,222 U.S. colleges considered.

ISU snagged the number 23 spot.

Students on both campuses say getting as much bang for their buck is an important part of choosing a school.

“I'm sure everyone wants to get a great outcome from what they invest in their education, and I feel that at Bradley I can get that,” said Annabel Kune.

Kune is taking summer classes at Bradley University and will be a sophomore in the Fall semester.

Jasmine Phillips is an ISU student. She said, “That's one of the number one things we're worried about when graduating because I think you only get about six months before you have to start paying it [loans] back.“

ETC’s research found Illinois State University graduates make an average starting salary of about $31,200.

Bradley students have an average starting salary of $34,100.
