Long Winter Leads to more Parking Ban Tickets

Despite warnings, residents have not complied with city parking bans.
NORMAL- Despite parking ban warnings from both Bloomington and Normal, residents have still managed to get tickets.

Bloomington compliance has been high with only nine tickets issued since January.

Normal, on the other hand, has issued more than one-hundred and fifty parking ban tickets.

The longer winter has made it more difficult for residents to keep up with the parking bans.

Normal police say a good rule to remember is, if there is going to be two inches or more of snow, get your car off the street.

Assistant Police Chief, Eric Klingele, with the Normal Police Department advises residents to comply with the bans so that snow plows can clean the streets more efficiently.

In Normal, if you don't move your car during parking bans, you can face up to a thirty dollar fine.
