WMBD/WYZZ-TV - LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- There's always a lot of excitement surrounding a new NFL season.
It's safe to say that the one Bear who's most looking foward to this Sunday's game with the Colts is receiver Brandon Marshall. He's excited to have a fresh start.
"I'm excited about the opportunity. It doesn't get any better than this. We have a tough challenge ahead of us. All I can do is play my role to the best of my ability and take advantage of our opponent and see what happens," said Marshall.
The Bears haven't had a big play threat like Marshall perhaps ever. The downside is teams are likely to double team the receiver to try to take him out of the picture.
"He knows it's a possibility. I think it's more than a possibility, it's going to happen,"' said Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. "He's going to have to be a decoy for us. He's going to have to keep running his routes on the backside no matter if there's one guy or two guys on him."
Added Marshall: "It'll be really hard for a team to really stop us with the guys we have in the locker room. But there's no coverage out there that I haven't seen. So, I'm prepared."
By the end of the season Marshall's stats could be very impressive. At the very least he's going to give opposing defenses a whole lot to think about.
