Morgan Park tops Lincoln in the 3A Championship

Morgan Park beats Lincoln 59-49 in the Class 3A Title game.

PEORIA - Morgan Park won back-to-back state titles on Saturday, beating Lincoln 59-49 in the Class 3A State title game on Saturday.

"It was awesome, taking in this experience," said Gavin Block, Lincoln Junior. "Tough loss, but great season. Loved these guys to death.  Wouldn't take anything back."

"Game like this, when teams pressure you, if you don't make easy scores, they are going to continue to pressure you," said Neil Alexander, Lincoln Head Coach. "That's what happened."

"Great feeling.  Lincoln had never played in a state title game before, awesome feeling.  The whole town came out to support us, but disappointed right now," said Max Cook, Lincoln Senior.

Lincoln takes the 2nd place trophy and ends the season with a 34-3 record.
