Mr. Cub visits Peoria

<br>Ernie Banks makes a stop in Peoria on Saturday to sign autographs and meet Chiefs fans.

WMBD/WYZZ-TV STAFF - PEORIA, IL - The man known as "Mr. Cub" paid a visit to the Peoria Chiefs on saturday.
Cubs Legend Ernie Banks in town to meet fans and take in a Chiefs game.

The Hall of Famer spennt 19 years on the Northside with the Cubs.
From 1953 to 1971, Banks was selected to 14 All-Star games, and was the first African American player with the Cubs.

Now he spends his years as a team ambassador, sharing his stories with the Cub faithful.

"So nice to have you all here.  So happy to be here with Pete (Vonachen).  I've been to the ball park," said Ernie Banks, Cubs Legend.  "Been here before.  Meet all the people.  My thing is meeting people and sharing the little things I know.  Peoria has always been close to me."

Banks also got to watch a 4-1 Chiefs victory on Saturday night.
