NORMAL - The Children's Discovery Museum is getting ready to celebrate 10 years in Uptown Normal, but before those big plans can happen, the museum is starting a fundraising campaign.

Female guests packed out the Bone Student Center at Illinois State University for a Ladies Luncheon and Style Show.

It was a chance to see the latest fashion trends and learn about the museum's needs. Organizers say it's the perfect way to end the work week.

"Today's event is to go refresh not only your style, but to refresh our exhibits at the museum and to make sure that we're providing the best experiences possible for families and children,” said Teresa Quine, development coordinator for the Children’s Museum.

Muesum officials say since it opened in 2004, more than 1.2 million guests have come through its doors. More than 300 people attended Friday's lunch and fashion show.
