New Action Group Wants Shakeup in District 150

PEORIA - A new action group wants shakeup in District 150's administration.

Change150 says they think that's best for students.

The group was formed after the reassignment of former Charter Oak Principal John Wetterauer and two special education teachers.

They say that is just one of many problems inside the district.

The group held a rally downtown Tuesday night before speaking in front of the Peoria City Council.

They believe intimidation, lack of trust, and over-authority in 150's administration is hurting the district, including teachers and students.

"By coming together as one voice, we will continue to hold the District 150 Board of Education accountable for the questionable and controversial decision they have made over the past few years," said group's Vice President Dan Dugal.

"We are here, because we support changge so District 150 can stay a successful school district," said former District 150 Assistant Superintendent Cheryl Sanfilip.

The group says it will be at next week's 150 board meeting to re-emphasize their concerns.
