WASHINGTON - Many businesses in Washington have been affected by tornado damage but one local business didn’t even get the chance to open its doors. The “Tot Shop” sells new and gently used kids clothes and other items for children. The store receives donations from across the Midwest. But when the tornado struck Washington the business pushed back the opening date to December 1st at their new location. Instead of worrying about the financial impact, the owners took stock of their own inventory and donated a portion of it to tornado victims. They now have a donation center set up a few doors down from the Tot Shop.
Stephanie Edwards says, “Things that you use daily and don't even really think about it. But, you know, garbage cans, garbage bags, contact lens solution, make-up."
The Tot Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10 to 5.
