New Farmer's Market Opening in S. Pekin

Locally-produced products will soon be easily accessible in S. Pekin.
SOUTH PEKIN – A Farmer’s Market will soon open in South Pekin.

Starting June 23rd you can head to the South Pekin Park to pick up locally-grown produce, baked goods, and items from Central Illinois vendors.

Organizers say they're also trying to book some live entertainment.

The new farmer's market is funded by the non-profit organization "Town Twisters,"

There's not a whole lot this way, says Jennifer Burgess who is the coordinator of this Farmers Market and the one opening June 17th in Manito.
“Once you come South of Pekin itself, there's not a whole lot out here for a community and stuff, so that's what we're trying to promote.”
The South Pekin Farmer's Market runs until August 11th.

It will be every Monday from 5-7p.m.
