Parking Bans-Traffic Collision Alerts

Parking Bans-Traffic Collision Alerts

With the snowy weather already affecting parts of Central Illinois and with more snow, sleet and possible ice on the way, a number of parking bans are in effect. A snow parking ban is in effect in Normal and will remain in effect until further notice. The police department may ticket vehicles parked on the street. A snow parking ban is activated to allow snow plow crews to clear the entire street including parking areas. Pekin has also implemented its parking ban on snow routes. Meantime, a traffic collision alert is in effect for Bloomington, Peoria, and Peoria County. In Peoria and Peoria County if drivers are involved in an accident without injuries and both vehicles can be driven, exchange information and report the collision in person at the Peoria Police Department within 36 hours after the end of the alert for city accidents and the Peoria County records for county accidents as soon as reasonably possible but within 48 hours after the end of the alert.
