A medical marijuana farm could be built in Pekin after the city council Monday night okayed annexing almost ten acres of land into the city. Monday night's vote is only to annex the land and is contingent on the state giving the green light to approve the medical marijuana plant. If the state denies the application, the annexation vote would be null and void. The property is across the road from the federal prison. Under a new state law, one cultivation center is allowed for every state police district in the state.
