Average retail gas prices in Peoria have risen 6.8 cents per gallon in the past week, according to a release Monday from GasBuddy.com. Prices were 39.1 cents per gallon lower than a year ago but 14.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan said the worst is likely yet to come in price. He says oil prices are moving higher as refineries continue their seasonal maintenance. Also in the next month those refineries will switch to a more expensive, cleaner burning summer gasoline.
