Peorian Pleads NOT GUILTY to Robbery Attempt

A Peoria man, facing several charges after police claim he attempted to rob a Family Dollar store, pleaded NOT GUILTY Thursday to a grand jury indictment. 39 year old Bobby Burns is charged with attempted aggravated robbery, burglary and battery. Police claim the suspect entered the business on North Western in May and assaulted a female employee at the cash register. The suspect also claimed he had a gun. When the register wouldn't open, the robber fled in a car. Witnesses got a license plate number and an officer spotted the car several blocks away and arrested Burns. He is back in court July 31st.
