Peorian Sentenced to 37 Years for Att. Murder

A Peoria man, convicted of trying to kill another man last year was sentenced Thursday to 37 years in prison, according to court officials. Jerry "Pooh Bear" Hughes was found guilty of attempted murder, aggravated battery and possession of a weapon by a felon in connection with a July 14th incident that left Anthony Thomas shot several times in the 2500 block of Lavalle Court.
