Peoria's Electrical Aggregation Contract Renewed

Peoria residents will be getting information in the mail soon.

PEORIA – If you live in the Peoria area, expect a note from the city about its electric aggregation program.

The program was voted on in 2012, and it allows for the city to negotiate a price for the supply of residential electricity.

Peoria has a contract with Homefield Energy, which will be renewed in June. Residents are automatically enrolled, but if you don’t want to be, you must let the city know.

Officials said the city’s rate is lower than Ameren’s standard rate.
