WMBD/WYZZ-TV - SILVIS, Ill. - It hasn't been a good year for D.A. Points.
The Pekin native and former University of Illinois player has played in 22 PGA Tour events this year and is still looking for his first Top 25 finish. Maybe that comes in his home state at the John Deere Classic outside the Quad Cities.
"I feel great coming into this week unfortunately, it's been a terrible year," said Points on Wednesday. "After having one of the best years of my career last year, my expectations were high, I was trying to get to another level. And I think I put too much pressure on myself. I haven't had much success here at the John Deere, so this might be my year."
Points, who has never made the cut at the John Deere Classic, has a 1:05 p.m. tee time for his opening round Thursday.
