Police Continue Homicide Investigation in Pontiac

Residents were back in their rooms at the Palamar Motel Wednesday after Tuesday’s double homicide.
PONTIAC – Residents were back in their rooms at the Palamar Motel Wednesday after Tuesday’s double homicide.

Pontiac Police are still investigating the incident at the 200 block of Ladd Street that also put another man in the hospital. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday morning and as of Wednesday evening police said they were still waiting for the Livingston County Coroner to positively identify the victims killed in the motel room.

After the victims are identified, the victim’s families will be notified then police can release their names. Meanwhile, they're still trying to find out what happened.

"We have spoken with all the neighbors present as well as the manager of the hotel. Detectives are still following up with different individuals and interviews as well as the injured subject, we're waiting to be able to interview him as well," said Major Dan Davis from the Pontiac Police Department.

  Police say that third victim who was first reported to be in grave condition is still recovering at a hospital in Springfield.

The office manager at the extended stay motel, Bonnie Carey said violence on the property is a rare occurrence. Other residents WMBD31 spoke with also said they still feel safe staying at the motel.
