"Without the playground, we're stuck inside."

The tornado knocked a tree into the St. Paul Preschool playground. WCIA-3's photojournalist Travis Probst shows us Through the Local Lens how a community effort helps give kids a play to play again.

"I happen to live right next door and we came out of the basement after the tornado and I noticed that part of my tree was laying on top of the playground and it was beyond repair. Thankfully, we have insurance and we were able to get a brand new one."

"Basically, what we're putting up is an exact replica of what we had before. Got a couple of swings and a slide and a rope ladder and a rock wall."

"We're on spring break this week and we promised the kids that the playground would be up for them when they came back on Monday so they could have some place to play because we haven't been able to come outside at all this spring."

"It's important for us to have a fun place for the kids to be. They're going to have bigger and better than what they had before."

Home Depot kicked in some cash to expand the playground. The kids will have a see-saw and playhouse installed in a few weeks.
