Rauner Leads in Another Poll

Governor Pat Quinn spent his entire political life as a government reformer, but a new Early and Often Poll indicates his Republican gubernatorial rival Bruce Rauner may have wrested that away from Quinn, according to the Chicago Sun Times. The latest poll showed Rauner with a 51 to 38 percent lead with 11 percent undecided. With about three months left to the mid term elections, Quinn, according to the article, appears to have been damaged by the coverage of his controversial $54.5 million Neighborhood Recovery Initiative anti violence grant program which is under federal investigation. The latest poll inidicates only 21 percent of state residents consider the governor to be a reformer while Raunder was named a reformer by nearly 47 percent. Also Quinn's TV attacks on Rauner's wealth may not be resonating. Responding to the latest poll, Rauner's campaign said Democrats, Independents and Republicans are coming to the same conclusion, that Pat Quinn has failed badly, the campaign says, and Bruce Rauner's policies will shake up Springfield. Rauner outscores Quinn in both men and women and does pretty well with Democrats. The survey also has Rauner with a steep advantage among Independents by a 54 to 32 percent margin.
