WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. - When the Peoria Rivermen watch the US-Canada Olympic hockey semifinal Friday morning, they will have split allegiances.
Half the Rivermen roster is American, the other half Canadian Goalie Eric Levine recalls the how the 2010 gold medal game between the two countries split his college hockey team.
"It was Canada-USA divided. For awhile you didn't talk to anyone," said Levine. "We have half the team watching one end, they were all Canadians. Half the Americans watching in the other room. It does bring out the rivalry. It's fun so I'm looking forward to it."
Levine is from suburban Chicago.
