Allen Road in Peoria between Alta Road and Townline Road will be reduced to one lane from Monday, August 11th until mid December. Traffic will be controlled by temporary signals. In addition, the ramp carrying southbound Allen Road traffic onto westbound Route 6 will be CLOSED to truck traffic. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by the late fall of 2015. Meantime, starting the week of Monday, August 11 Main Street in Peoria will be experience partial lane closures during the day to begin the installation of the lighted crosswalks. The following preliminary schedule is weather dependent and subject to change: Monday, August 11tgh Main Street east and west of Institute Place; Tuesday, August 12th Bradley Avenue and University Street; and Wednesday, August 13th, Main Street and Underhill. Lane closures at each location are expected to last a couple of days. No parking will be permitted for several blocks along these streets. The installation of the lighted crosswalks will enhance the pedestrian safety and is part of the final phase of the University and Main Street reconstruction project. One to two day full lane closures at each location will be needed in the next few weeks to complete this work. The public will be notified of these closures. Also not that single lane closures Monday, August 11th and Tuesday, August 12th on the bridge carrying Route 40 and 17 over Camp Creek, south of Camp Grove in Marshall County. The lane closure is necessary for crews to take soil samples from beneath the bridge. Two way traffic will be maintained on the bridge during this time with flaggers alternating traffic onto the single open lane.
