Rural Areas Of Central Illinois Get Ready For Another Round of Wintry Weather

WOODFORD COUNTY - Woodford County Highway Department braces for yet another round of significant snow.
With another round of wintry weather on the way across Central Illinois, area municipalities are bracing for the impacts.

Forecasters predict around 4 to 8 inches of snow area wide with the chance for some accumulating ice.
The Woodford County Highway Department says they've been throwing salt down since early Friday morning.

"We have plenty of salt to throw down and we'll put as much down as needed", says Bob Tyler of the Highway Department.
"This is certainly more snow than last year but we're ready for it", he says.

Woodford County Highway Department plowers cover more than 160 miles of county highways with only 8 plow trucks.

They say they also use a combination of other chemicals to melt ice and snow when temperatures get to cold.

"Every storm is different and we must tackle each storm differently", Tyler says.

This is 1 of 3 rounds of wintry weather to come in the next week in Central Illinois.
