Share Your Thoughts on Getting the LST 325 in Peoria

Residents will have 3 chances to share opinions on the efforts to attract the warship to the river city.
A public meeting is planned for next week to gather input on the city's attempt to get the LST 325 from Evansville, IN to the Peoria riverfront.
Evansville's contract to have the World War II warship ends next year and Peoria city officials have been negotiating to get it.
They will go before the City Council on June 24 with the details of funding and location for the ship.
Council members not only want that plan, but also the amount of community interest in the effort.
The public meeting will be held Tuesday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the ballroom of the Gateway Building (200 NE Water Street, 3rd Floor).  There will be a brief presentation regarding the project then the staff will answer questions and take public comment.
You can also share support or opposition by taking an online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/lstpeoria. The survey will be open until June 20.
There is also a Facebook page, www.facebook.com/lstpeoria, set up to share project information and to get comments from the public.
