Snyder Village Resident Celebrates 100th Birthday

Still hoping for a Cubs win.
METAMORA - Celebrating a birthday is a special occasion and one Central Illinois man did just that Saturday for the 100th time.

Louis Reinhart turned 100-years-old on March 18th, but his friends and family gathered on Saturday at Snyder Village for a party. Some made the trip from as far away as Arizona.

The former farmer and carpenter grew up north of Champaign. He’s been living at Snyder Village for five years. His family says he loves sports, especially baseball.

"He's very much a Cubs fan. He loves to watch the Cubs games and he makes sure he see those all the time," said his daughter, Julie Harper.

"I hope, hope they do it this year because I ain't got many left," Reinhart said.

Reinhart said all he wanted for his birthday was to tell jokes with his family and eat a piece of cake.
