BLOOMINGTON - A McLean County representative is joining a task force to help cut down on an illegal drug problem in Illinois.

State Representative Dan Brady of Bloomington is now on a task force with other lawmakers to try to figure out why heroin has become so widely used across the state.

Brady says the key is slowing the ease of access to the drug. He says it's become rampant in places all over the state.

"Here in McLean County, there's been an increase with heroin overdose, and so throughout the state, we want to go ahead and find out reasons why, number one and number two, what we can do as a state and as a state legislature about the problem,” said Brady.

Brady says there will be four hearings about the heroin problem scheduled for the spring session.
