Superintendent Retiring

Washington Community High School Superintendent Jim Dunnan moving to Rankin District 98
WASHINGTON - Washington Community High School's superintendent is retiring and heading to South Pekin.
Jim Dunnan has been Washington's superintendent for 10 years and has been in education for nearly 40.
He is moving to Rankin District 98.
He'll be the new part-time superintendent.
Since he's retiring, he will be working no more than a hundred days a year.
Dunnan says he is ready for the transition.
"There's times in your career, there's times to move on, and this is a great time to do that with everything we've got accomplished here with the facility and the building and some of the things we've done academically,” Dunnan said. “It's a great time to step aside and turn the reigns over to someone else."
Dunnan says his biggest accomplishment at Washington was passing the 2010 referendum, which allowed for multiple construction updates to the school.
