A Chicago man, wanted in connection with the murder of a Galesburg man earlier this month, made his first court appearance Friday since his arrest in Chicago area this week by U S Marshalls. Christopher Croom is charged with murder and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon in connection with the August 13th fatal stabbing of Melvin Buckner. Police say the homicide occurred in the 500 block of West Brooks. Croom will appear September 5th with his court appointed public defender.
