WMBD/WYZZ-TV - BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan's 107-61 victory over the North Park men's basketball team Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Shirk Center gave the Titans a share of their second-straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championship.
The Titans buries a school record-tying 19 three-pointers in the victory which gives the school its 29th overall league title. A a win over Wheaton on Saturday would be the Titan's 23rd outright men's hoops championship.
A win over Wheaton would also mean that Illinois Wesleyan would serve as host for the CCIW postseason tournament on Feb. 28-March 1 for the second straight season. Since the men's tourney began in 2006, it has been at Augustana three times (2006, 2007, 2008), at North Central twice (2011, 2012), and at IWU (2013), Wheaton (2009) and Carthage (2010) once.
Jordan Nelson led the Titans with 19 point, as IWU forced 18 turnovers and outrebounded the Vikings 41-25.
