Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tennessee Titans announced Tuesday that the team has agreed to contract terms with rookie Bishop Sankey, the first running back selected in this year's NFL draft.
The Titans took Sankey in the second round (No. 54 overall) following a highly productive junior campaign at the University of Washington, where he rushed for a school-record 1,870 yards and 20 touchdowns and amassed 2,174 yards from scrimmage in 2013.
Sankey, who put up 1,439 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground the previous season, is expected to contend for a starter's role in a Tennessee backfield that no longer contains six-time 1,000-yard rusher Chris Johnson.
The Titans also signed wide receiver Derek Hagan, a veteran of 83 NFL games over seven seasons with Miami, the New York Giants, Oakland and Buffalo. The 29-year-old last played in a regular-season game in 2012, recording 20 catches over 14 contests with the Raiders.
