Two of eight men, rounded up in 2012 as part of Peoria's Don't Shoot initiative, were sentenced Monday in Peoria federal court. 25 year old Spencer Furlow pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking offense and was sentenced to six years in prison, according to court officials. Furlow was part of a sweeping indictment against alleged members of the notorious Bomb Squad street gang. Meantime, a second defendant, Orlando Mack received ten years in prison Monday for conspiracy to carry a firearm during a drug trafficking offense. The Don't Shoot program was initiated to rid Peoria streets of gun violence.
